The following are the major activities involved in the transmission projects.
The various activities carried out are as follows as per the site condition/client’s requirement.
I. EHV CABLE INSTALLATION IN THE TRENCH/WITH BUND FORMATION.
Study on existing utilities prior to trench excavation:- Excavation of trial pits, expose exiting utilities and preparation of reports. |
The laid Cable shall be covered with approved material (FTB/CBS). |
Construct the road crossing by Horizontal Directional Drilling / Open Cut method. |
Install Cable Tiles as mechanical protection. |
Mark the location of the Joint Bay inside the excavated pit and construct joint bay. |
Backfilling in layers of 150 MM up to the ground level/required height with suitable materials and compact properly to achieve 95% or above compaction. |
Mark the Trench/Bund base as per the approved drawing and excavate the trench/construct bund base up to the required width and depth/thickness. |
Provide warning tape after second layer. |
Install green net inside the Trench/Steel shutter on bund base for CBS/FTB bedding. |
Backfilling the Joint Bay after jointing. |
Provide the cable bedding (FTB/CBS) inside the trench/shutter provided on bund base. |
Surplus material removal and site cleaning. |
Cable drums shall be shifted and laid. |
II. REPLACING/REROUTING THE CABLE (EXPOSING CABLE BY WATER JET/SAND BLASTING MACHINE).
Identify the Cable to be exposed. |
The laid Cable shall be covered with approved material (FTB/CBS). |
Excavate up to RCC cable tiles and remove the tiles. |
Install RCC Cable Tiles as mechanical protection. |
Remove the cable covering (CBS/FTB) with the help of water jet/sand blasting machine. |
Backfilling in layers of 150 MM up to the ground level with suitable materials and compact properly to achieve 95% or above compaction. |
Expose the cable completely and cut in to small pieces. |
Provide warning tape after second layer. |
Remove the cable pieces and clean the trench. |
Surplus material removal and site cleaning. |
Prepare the trench by pouring bedding materials to receive the new cable in existing trench / new trench. |
III. DAMAGE REPAIR.
Identify the Cable to be repaired. |
After the jointing works reinstatement the Joint Bay with cover slabs. |
Expose the cable up to the required length, cut and remove damaged portion. |
Provide warning tape after second layer. |
Construct the new Joint Bay. |
Surplus material removal and site cleaning. |
